Adrian Lang

Adrian Lang is Head of Governance and Small Business Solutions at Bank of Montreal. In her role she leads the integration and management of Small Business payment products and develops and executes a North American loyalty, enhancements and partnerships strategy for the portfolio. She also has oversight for the operational risk team and governance oversight for the Canadian payments team.  Prior to that role, she was Head of Business Management for Personal and Commercial Banking, where she had responsibility for strategic integration and initiatives for the P&C businesses. Prior to that role she was Associate General Counsel, where she led the litigation team for P&C Canada.   She was awarded the Canadian General Counsel Award for Litigation Management in 2015, and her team was awarded Litigation Team of the year by Benchmark Litigation.   She also received the 2015 Community Builder Award from the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association.  Prior to joining the Bank, in 2013, she was a partner with Stikeman Elliott’s Toronto litigation group, where her practice focused on commercial litigation, securities litigation and class action litigation. She was recognized by The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory as a leading practitioner in several areas, as well as by The Best Lawyers in Canada and Benchmark Canada, the Guide to Canada’s Leading Litigation Firms and Attorneys. She was named a “Litigator to Watch” by Lexpert®’s survey of Canadian cross-border litigators in 2009 and was recognized by Lexpert® in 2008 as one of the “Leading Lawyers Under 40”. Ms. Lang is on the Advisory Board of the Class Action Defences Quarterly, and is on the Board of Governors for Royal St. Georges College where she is Chair of the Governance Committee. She is a past director of The Advocates’ Society, sat on the Advisory Board of Young Women in Law, and is a past board member, and Chair (2013-15)  of the Board of Canadian Stage. She was a Vice Chair for the 2017 Princess Margaret Ride to Conquer Cancer and is a BMO Ride team captain.   She is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors’ Directors Education Program, and has her ICD.D designation.
