Roxana Tavana
Roxana Tavana is currently President & CEO and Managing Director and Head, Scotiatrust with Scotiabank.
Before joining Scotiatrust in 2016, Roxana was Associate General Counsel and Head of Legal for Global Asset Management at Scotiabank where she led a team of lawyers and legal professionals and served as Corporate Secretary for various public and private entities, globally. Prior to 2012, Roxana was Vice President, Legal at DundeeWealth Inc. and head of its investment management legal and corporate secretarial group for several years. Roxana started her legal career at the firm of Davies, Ward, Phillips and Vineberg LLP where she summered, articled and became an Associate practicing corporate and securities law. Roxana is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the e.p.i.c. school, a leading progressive school specializing in early education for children in the City of Toronto, a Director of METRAC, an organization working with individuals, communities and institutions to change ideas, actions and policies in Canada to end violence against women and youth, a member of the Malachy Soiree Steering Committee, a group in support of raising awareness and funding in support of St. Michael’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and is a Vice Chair for Global Wealth & Insurance on Scotiabank’s Employee Giving Cabinet. Roxana obtained her Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto and her law degree from the University of Western Ontario. Roxana’s first banking job was as a teller at the age of 16 with one of the big Canadian banks. She speaks both French and Farsi and lives in Toronto with her two young boys.
