Sara Martel is a health researcher and communication scholar whose work focuses on the patient experience in general and neonatal intensive care specifically. After completing her Phd in this area, her research unexpectedly collided with her own experience as her son was born at 28 weeks gestation and spent the first two and a half months of his life in the NICU. Living life as a new parent in intensive care and seeing the many challenges people face there has deepened her passion for making the care that families and babies receive as good as it can possibly be to set them on course for health and happiness. She is thrilled to join the team at Malachy’s Soiree to reach this goal!
